Ian Darke and Landon Donovan will lead Fox's broadcast team for this year's European Championship, while John Strong and Stu Holden will cover the Copa America. With both tournaments overlapping, Fox announced Thursday that it will deploy seven announcing teams.
Darke, a veteran ESPN broadcaster who joined Fox for the 2022 World Cup, will be paired again with Donovan. Darke is one of seven British broadcasters on the four Euro 2024 announce teams.
Jacqui Oatley will team up with Warren Barton, reprising their partnership from the 2022 World Cup. Derek Rae will work alongside former England goalkeeper Robert Green, and Darren Fletcher will join former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves. Fletcher, a seasoned British broadcaster, previously worked for Fox at the 2019 Yankees-Red Sox games in London.
All four Euro 2024 teams will be based in Germany, where the tournament will take place from June 14 to July 14.
Strong and Holden, who served as Fox’s lead team for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, will cover all U.S. national team matches at the Copa America, which will be held in the U.S. from June 20 to July 14. The U.S. is one of the invited teams in the 16-team South American championship.
JP Dellacamera will partner with Cobi Jones, his colleague from the 2022 World Cup, while Luis Omar Tapia will join former American midfielder Maurice Edu. Tapia, who joined Fox this year after a decade at Univision, will be based in Los Angeles with Edu. Dellacamera and Jones will call matches both from stadiums and from Fox’s Los Angeles studio.
Former referees Mark Clattenburg and Joe Machnik will serve as rules analysts.
The finals of both tournaments will create a doubleheader on July 14, with the Euro 2024 championship in Berlin starting at 3 p.m. EDT, followed by the Copa America final in Miami Gardens, Florida, at 8 p.m.
