Spain's national team manager, Luis de la Fuente, has unveiled the provisional squad for the upcoming European Championships, featuring notable inclusions and exclusions.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri, Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya have secured spots in the 29-man squad, while Aston Villa's Pau Torres and Tottenham's Pedro Porro have been omitted.
The squad, subject to a final trim of three players by the June 7 deadline, includes emerging talents such as Barcelona youngsters Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, alongside newcomers Fermin Lopez and former Newcastle player Ayoze Perez.
Paris St-Germain forward Marco Asensio has been left out of the roster, a decision signaling a shift in Spain's squad composition under de la Fuente, who took over from Luis Enrique in December 2022.
De la Fuente's tenure has seen Spain secure the Nations League title in 2023, marking their first major international triumph in over a decade. However, challenges await as Spain navigates a tough group comprising reigning champions Italy, Croatia, and Albania.
The tournament kicks off for Spain on June 15 with a clash against Croatia in Berlin.
