Cristiano Ronaldo will compete in his 11th major international tournament, having been named in Portugal's squad for Euro 2024.
The 39-year-old forward for Al-Nassr is the most capped player in international football history, boasting 206 appearances and 128 goals for Portugal.
Portugal manager Roberto Martinez has selected Ronaldo as one of seven forwards in his 26-man squad for next month's tournament in Germany.
Martinez stated in a news conference that Ronaldo continues to provide "a quality in front of goal which we greatly appreciate and which we need."
Ronaldo first appeared in a major tournament at Euro 2004, where Portugal reached the final but were defeated by Greece. He was instrumental in Portugal's Euro 2016 victory and their Nations League triumph in 2018–19.
The squad features nine players from Premier League clubs, including Wolves trio Jose Sa, Nelson Semedo, and Pedro Neto. Also included are Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias, Fulham's Joao Palhinha, and Liverpool's Diogo Jota.
Veteran defender Pepe, 41, is also part of the squad, alongside his 21-year-old Porto teammate Francisco Conceicao. Conceicao, the son of former Portugal international Sergio Conceicao, earned his first senior cap against Slovenia in March.
Portugal will face the Czech Republic in their Group F opener on 18 June, followed by matches against Turkey and Georgia.
