Bournemouth have finalized a £12.6 million agreement with Juventus for the transfer of defender Dean Huijsen. The deal includes potential add-ons that could increase the total fee to £15.2 million.
Huijsen, a 19-year-old centre-back, is expected to undergo a medical examination with Bournemouth shortly. Should the move go through, Huijsen will become the Premier League club's sixth signing of the summer, joining Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison, and Koby Mottoh.
Originally from the Netherlands, Huijsen represented his country at various youth levels up to the Under-19s. At the age of five, he relocated to Spain and acquired Spanish citizenship earlier this year, leading to his debut for the Under-21 team in March.
Huijsen began his football journey at Costa Unida before transferring to Malaga in 2015. He joined Juventus three years ago, initially featuring for their Under-17 squad. He made his first-team debut in October against AC Milan, though it was his sole appearance for Juventus. Last season, Huijsen spent the latter half on loan at Roma, where he made 13 appearances and scored two goals.
