Aston Villa has announced the sale of French winger Moussa Diaby to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad for a reported fee of approximately £50 million ($65 million) on Wednesday.
Diaby, 25, joined Villa Park last summer for a club-record fee and scored 10 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions, contributing to Unai Emery's team securing a Champions League spot.
Before his stint with Aston Villa, Diaby spent four years at Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, where he was managed by Emery during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.
In his new role at Al-Ittihad, Diaby will join fellow French players Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante, as well as former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.
Al-Ittihad, managed by Laurent Blanc, aims to build on their fifth-place finish from the previous season.
