Manchester United have initiated exploratory discussions regarding a potential transfer of Raheem Sterling from Chelsea.
Sterling, a 29-year-old forward, has been training separately from Chelsea’s first-team squad. Blues manager Enzo Maresca has indicated that Sterling may face limited playing time at the club.
Although no agreement has been reached yet, these talks highlight United sporting director Dan Ashworth’s interest in leveraging the situation at Stamford Bridge to benefit his team.
United sources emphasize that any potential deal will be made on their terms. Meanwhile, winger Jadon Sancho, who is also of interest to Chelsea, is available for transfer. Juventus have expressed interest in Sancho but are hesitant to meet United’s terms, including an obligation to buy in any loan arrangement and covering the entirety of Sancho’s wages.
Sterling, who has earned 82 caps for England, is a known supporter of Manchester United. He spent a decade in the North West, initially with Liverpool and later with Manchester City, where he won 10 major trophies before transferring to Chelsea for £50 million two years ago.
