Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension with Chelsea, securing his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has committed to a nine-year deal with improved terms following a standout debut season in west London.
In his first season with Chelsea after a £42.5 million transfer from Manchester City, Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances. His impressive performances have earned him a new contract from the Blues.
Palmer, who scored in England's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final in July, is set to be officially announced as part of the extended deal in the coming days. He is also shortlisted for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, with the winners to be revealed next week in Salford. Additionally, Palmer received the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24.
Chelsea will kick off their Premier League season against Manchester City on Sunday. Manager Enzo Maresca will face his former team, where he previously won the Treble in 2022-23 as an assistant to Pep Guardiola. Last season, Maresca guided Leicester City back to the Premier League by winning the Championship title.
