Chelsea has finalized the signing of Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth £54 million. The 24-year-old Portuguese forward has agreed to a seven-year contract with the Blues, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2031.
Neto was unveiled to Chelsea supporters during the halftime of a friendly match against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Expressing his excitement, Neto stated, "I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt."
Chelsea reached an agreement with Wolves on Friday, following two previously rejected bids. The deal includes an initial payment of £51.3 million, with an additional £2.6 million in performance-related add-ons.
Neto, who moved to Wolves from Lazio in 2019, netted 14 goals in 135 appearances during his time in the west Midlands. His transfer marks a record sale for Wolverhampton Wanderers, surpassing the £47 million they received from Al-Hilal in 2023 for Ruben Neves.
With Neto's arrival, Chelsea's summer spending now totals approximately £185 million. The club has already added several players to their roster, including midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, and Caleb Wiley, winger Estevao Willian, and striker Marc Guiu.
Chelsea is reportedly looking to secure further signings in the coming days, with Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion and Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders among their targets.
