Liverpool continues its negotiations with Real Sociedad regarding a potential transfer of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The 25-year-old has a release clause set at 60 million euros (£51.5 million), which would require payment in a single instalment if Liverpool decides to activate it.
Currently, the discussions focus on the structure of the deal, with any transfer contingent on Zubimendi’s decision. Reports suggest that any delays are not related to Liverpool's efforts to include players in the potential transfer.
Zubimendi, who has been with Sociedad since 2011, is on a pre-season trip to Germany with his club and was named as a substitute in their recent friendly match against Union Berlin on Friday.
He has emerged as a key target for Liverpool as they aim to secure their first significant signing under new manager Arne Slot.
Zubimendi was part of the Spain squad that triumphed at Euro 2024, coming on as a second-half substitute for Manchester City's Rodri in the final, where Spain defeated England 2-1.
