Striker Richarlison has confirmed his intention to stay at Tottenham Hotspur after turning down an offer to move to Saudi Arabia. The 27-year-old Brazil forward joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 for a club-record fee of £60 million and has since scored 15 goals in 66 appearances for the team. Despite not always being a starter last season under manager Ange Postecoglou, Richarlison has decided to remain in England.
His current contract with Tottenham runs until 2027, and he has garnered interest from several clubs in Saudi Arabia, with one unnamed team reportedly making a bid. However, Richarlison emphasized his desire to stay in the Premier League to enhance his chances of continuing his international career with Brazil. He stated, "There has been an offer but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder," in an interview with ESPN Brazil.
As Richarlison looks to solidify his position at Tottenham, the club is also in the market for a new striker this summer. Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke has been identified as a target. Solanke, who scored 21 goals in 42 games for Bournemouth last season, has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which still has three years remaining. However, Tottenham values the striker at a lower price, as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.
