West Ham has officially signed Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville in a deal worth a reported £25 million, moving closer to acquiring Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug. The announcement came on Saturday, with Summerville agreeing to a five-year contract with the Hammers after a standout season in the Championship, where he was named Player of the Year.
The 22-year-old winger, whose transfer fee could reportedly rise to £34 million with add-ons, finished last season as the third-highest scorer in the Championship, netting 19 goals.
"Leeds United can confirm Crysencio Summerville has today joined West Ham United in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, after an exit clause within his contract was triggered," read a statement from Leeds United. "Crysencio now departs Elland Road to join Premier League outfit West Ham and we wish him well for the future."
West Ham's transfer activity has included the signings of Maximilian Kilman, Luis Guilherme, and Wes Foderingham since finishing ninth in the Premier League last season. Summerville's move marks the second notable exit from Leeds following their defeat to Southampton in the Championship playoff final in May. Archie Gray previously transferred to Tottenham for £40 million earlier in the summer transfer window.
Additionally, West Ham, under the management of Julen Lopetegui—who took over in May after David Moyes' departure—has been linked with Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Fullkrug. Reports indicate that Dortmund has permitted Fullkrug to leave their pre-season training camp to discuss a transfer with an unnamed club, widely believed to be West Ham.
"Niclas Fullkrug has left training camp in Switzerland on Saturday morning. Borussia Dortmund have allowed the striker to leave for talks with another club," Dortmund confirmed in a statement on X.
Fullkrug, 31, had a productive season in the Bundesliga, scoring 12 goals in 29 appearances and representing Germany at Euro 2024.
