Liverpool have turned down an £11.8 million offer from Marseille for midfielder Wataru Endo. The 31-year-old Japan international, who joined Liverpool from Stuttgart for approximately £16.2 million in August, is a key part of the squad. Endo made 43 appearances last season, including 20 starts in the Premier League, and contributed to Liverpool's League Cup victory.
Marseille, under the management of Roberto de Zerbi, had shown interest in Endo. De Zerbi faced Endo when he was in charge of Brighton last season. Additionally, Liverpool is aware of ongoing interest in the defensive midfielder from other German clubs.
Liverpool has not made any new signings this summer since the appointment of manager Arne Slot.
