Inter Milan will kick off their defense of the Serie A title against Genoa, while Como will make their return to the top flight against Juventus, marking their first Serie A appearance in over two decades. The 2024/25 season fixtures were announced on Thursday, with the campaign starting on the weekend of August 17-18.
Under new ownership by US investment fund Oaktree since May, Inter, led by manager Simone Inzaghi, aim to maintain their Scudetto success from last season. Former owners Suning lost ownership after failing to repay a 395 million euro loan.
Giuseppe Marotta, appointed as president last month, continues to oversee Inter's operations after playing a pivotal role in their recent achievements under Suning's tenure.
Following their opener against Genoa on August 18, Inter will play Lecce and Europa League champions Atalanta at home before facing Monza and their local rivals AC Milan in September.
Como, under the ownership of Indonesian conglomerate Djarum since 2019, begin their Serie A campaign against Juventus, who recently appointed Thiago Motta as head coach following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri. Como's initial fixtures against Juve, Cagliari, and Udinese will be played away from home due to ongoing renovations at their Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium.
Former Arsenal players Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry are minority shareholders in Como, with Fabregas also serving as assistant to head coach Osian Roberts.
Atalanta and fellow promoted teams Parma and Venezia will also start their seasons away from home as stadium renovations continue.
The Serie A season, scheduled to conclude on May 25, will feature matches spread across each weekend, with matches scheduled on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday evenings. The first three rounds in August and early September will be played in the evening to avoid summer heat.
