Wojciech Szczesny has parted ways with Juventus after seven years, the Italian club announced on Wednesday. The Polish goalkeeper is reportedly moving to a club in Saudi Arabia.
Szczesny, 34, succeeded Gianluigi Buffon in 2017 but has recently fallen out of favor at the Turin club, which has not won a league title in the past four years.
According to Juventus, "Juventus and Wojciech Szczesny part ways after seven seasons together, with the two parties agreeing to a mutual termination of their contract."
Szczesny joined Juventus from Arsenal after a two-season loan spell at Roma from 2015 to 2017. During his tenure, he made 252 appearances, kept 103 clean sheets, and won three Serie A titles and three Italian Cup trophies.
With Szczesny's departure, new coach Thiago Motta has signed Michele Di Gregorio from Monza as his replacement.
"Tek (Szczesny) will always be remembered as a dedicated player and a man who wore our jersey with pride and professionalism," the club stated.
"Thanks for everything Tek, and good luck for the future!"
