Girona capped off their impressive La Liga campaign with a commanding 7-0 win over relegated Granada on Friday. Artem Dovbyk reclaimed the top spot in the league's goalscoring charts with a hat-trick.
Under Michel's management, Girona, securing a historic qualification for the Champions League, secured third place in the league standings, trailing behind champions Real Madrid and Barcelona.
On loan from Barcelona, Eric Garcia opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season in the 30th minute. Viktor Tsygankov and Artem Dovbyk, from Ukraine, extended the lead with a goal each, including a penalty, before halftime.
Tsygankov found the net again nine minutes into the second half. Dovbyk and Cristhian Stuani added to Granada's woes, while Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri received his marching orders after being shown two yellow cards.
Dovbyk, who had been overtaken in the race for the Pichichi Trophy by Alexander Sorloth in the previous weekend, reclaimed the lead by scoring his second penalty of the match in the 90th minute, tallying his 24th goal of the La Liga season.
