Pau Victor scored two goals as Barcelona secured a victory over their Spanish rivals and La Liga champions Real Madrid in a friendly match held in the United States.
Real Madrid was missing England international Jude Bellingham and France forward Kylian Mbappe, who did not join the club's tour of the US after participating in this summer's European Championship in Germany for their respective national teams.
The match, which marked the first El Clasico of the season, took place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and was interrupted after 12 minutes due to a heavy storm.
After a delay of more than an hour, the game resumed, and Barcelona took the lead just before halftime when 22-year-old forward Victor headed in a ball from Robert Lewandowski.
Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois made a notable save from Lewandowski, but shortly after the break, Victor scored his second goal, extending Barcelona's lead.
Nico Paz managed to head home for Real Madrid late in the match, but Barcelona maintained their advantage to secure the win.
With his two goals, Victor has now scored three times in Barcelona's two matches during their US tour, having previously netted in a 2-2 draw against Premier League champions Manchester City earlier this week.
In response to the defeat, Real Madrid's manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed a lack of concern over the team's performance. This loss marked Real Madrid's second defeat during their US tour, following a 1-0 loss to AC Milan last week.
Real Madrid is scheduled to face Premier League side Chelsea on August 6 in North Carolina. Ancelotti emphasized that the purpose of these matches is to provide players with game time rather than to focus solely on results.
"We're working on our preparations and the players are gradually coming back to the team. The result is not so important," he stated.
"The objective is for players to get minutes and to get them in good shape. We're not focusing on tactical aspects. That starts on the seventh [of August]."
Ancelotti added, "We're not worried. It's a pre-season game and we're missing eight players."
